As the second largest ski area in the world,our magnificent and immense ski area covers 650km of ski slopes and 196 ski lifts.
About winter season 2024-2025, Châtel ski lift company informs about the projected opening dates of the ski area:
UPDATE 2024 : Opening dates of the Châtel ski area for Christmas holidays
Weekend of 7th and 8th of December: opening of the Pré la Joux / Plaine Dranse area
From 16th to 22nd of December 2023: partial opening – Linga / Pré la Joux / Plaine Dranse areas and the link with Avoriaz
From the 21st of December 2024 to 21st of April 2025 : opening of the whole area

The closure of the ski is scheduled on the 21st of April 2025 evening.
DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN SKI IN SWITZERLAND ?
During the Christmas holidays, you will be able to ski in Switzerland. Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil will open the 14th of December 2024. Multiply possibilities: enjoy to ski staying in Châtel for Christmas holidays.

We plan to pick up skiers from Chatel and other Portes du Soleil resorts on the French side with buses. We are going to set up “picnic areas”, create the package with transport included, for skiing on the Swiss side. […] The main objective is to be of assistance and to help our French neighbors of the Portes du Soleil.
